To Have or Not to Have-An Attitude! That's not the Question!

The update for the last week from the Blue Caramel offices in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur have more of qualitative enhancements rather than any quantitative increments. There have been no joy on the revenue front though Manish has persevered in Jodhpur and Suheil has opened and is following up the Royal Wedding segment.

The "Siesta" discussions have sprung up new and interesting topics for discussion and a real good topic was initiated by Mehul, who rejoined work today after "a fling with his heart" in Ahmedabad. The topic was "Attitude". For a long time at the Udaipur office, during the course of the discussion, it was inferred that to have an Attitude was derogatory for the person who had it. But gradually, it was realized that Attitude is something that is inherent in every person and that these are conditioned over a period of time through experiences.

So, to have an Attitude or not to have an Attitude is never really a question because every person has it. The real question is how to channelize, focus and reinforce one's positive attitude for the betterment, not only of the individual but also of everyone associated with him. It was also deliberated that in an organization, it is better to have an Attitude that is professional in nature, because all modern organizations, it was at the end agreed, believe in the principle of subjugation of individual goals to the overall Company goals, albeit with full employee emancipation.

Companies are always in the look out for SMART people and in this word the letter that comes right in the middle and is the heart of the word is A which signifies Attitude. So, a person who does not have the requisite positive attitude in him will over a period of time become a deadwood for the company because what good would be a Smart person, whose heart is not in the right place???

The Sacrificial Lamb!

The last 2 days at the Blue Caramel Office, Udaipur have seen some very constructive interactions during the "Siesta" discussions. These series of discussions that we have at the office, are an outcome of 2 factors, first being an urge in each Blue Carameler to brush up her/his spoken English language and the second being, to gainfully utilize the time that is gifted to us- the public, by the government on account of  "load shedding", the scheduled electricity/power cuts.

If yesterday's discussion was on "The twisted tail of a dog remains twisted", then today's deliberations were on "The Sacrificial Lamb". These discussions in a way, symbolically, help each Blue Carameler to try to come up with solutions to problems, that they might otherwise be reluctant to come out with.

A classic case of this was seen today, when during the course of our discussion on the Sacrificial Lamb, it was unanimously agreed that a Sacrificial Lamb would always be a person, who has nothing of value on offer for the other entity that is sacrificing it. Putting it into an organisational context, the person who is not productive for a company will more often that none find himself enacting the Sacrificial Lamb.
So, the unspoken oath that every Blue Carameler took today was to see to it that every one becomes productive for the company in a way that Blue Caramel never has to seek out a "Sacrificial Lamb" ever.

Mid Month Blues!

The month of February is nearing end, even before I could realise that the month had begun. The first 2 weeks of the month has seen a wide variety of activities being enacted in all the Blue Caramel Offices.

At the start of the month, Shinod, Himanshu and myself-Arunabh were all stationed out of Blue Caramel-Jaipur. We had a great deal of deliberations and then we came to a conclusion to start 2 new ventures, about which I would be throwing more light in future blogs. We have tried, in the mean time, to have some additional resources on board and some concrete decisions on streamlining our processes have also been initiated. These decisions, I am sure, will lead to a further enhancement of Blue Caramel operations.

The month also saw recognition of some great performances. Manish from Blue Caramel Office-Jodhpur, Prerna from Blue Caramel Office-Udaipur and Sanjay from Blue Caramel Office-Jaipur, all successfully completed their probations and their valuable contributions towards the growth of the organisation were duly recognised. Since, this is just the starting of a fruitful journey as a Blue Carameler for all of them, I wish each one of them, the very best for all future endeavours.

On the personal front, the first 2 weeks of February have given Blue Caramelers great joy as well as huge sorrow. Niharika has got a great opportunity and might leave us soon and Pallabi is also most certainly going to get her "Final Placement" (read marriage) by December2012. Congrats to both, but we will all miss them, especially Niharika, who it seems will leave Blue Caramel in the very near future.
On a gloomy note, Sanjay lost his grandmother during this time. All Blue Caramelers offer their deepest condolences to the bereaved family.

So, it has been a very sweet and sour sort of 2 weeks for the Blue Caramelers, who have seen a very wide range of emotions. But taking all these in stride, Blue Caramel continues to surge forward, because as the wise men say " The Show Must Go On"!!

Understand and Feel!!

Coming to the end of the first month of the year 2012, there have been many new developments at Blue Caramel especially in the last week. At last the shifting to a new premise was completed at the Blue Caramel Office in Udaipur. The new office, though much more spacious than the older one (nearly 3 times), would be a test of the creativity of the Blue Caramelers, especially the Girls Brigade, as they need to see to it that it is gradually transformed into a swanky set up. Suheil and Mehul's end to the month seems to be heading towards disaster, though I am still hopeful..

Manish at Blue Caramel, Jodhpur has provided some solace as he has continued his fine run and bagged 2 more projects from his location. But these are just drops of the Ocean of  Revenue that we envisage from Jodhpur.

We, ie Shinod, Himanshu and Arunabh, along with Sanjay have come to Jaipur to streamline things here. We took this opportunity to attend Tulsi's wedding as well on 30th January.

To Understand Something, You Need Knowledge.
But To Feel It, You Need Experience!

All Blue Caramelers are now equipped with all necessary Knowledge and tools to succeed.
But the Passion has to growth for them to actually feel and experience the power and growth Blue Caramel offers.

On a personal front, I became an Uncle of a lovely princess on 26th January and thus The Indian Republic Day has now added a completely new dimension to my life :)

Success Is Never Permanent, Failure Is Never Final!

The last week has seen some mixed efforts from all locations of Blue Caramel but the desired results have not culminated.  Manish from Jodhpur has made some good calls and results are awaited. Sanjay and Himanshu have come back to Udaipur, Suheil at Matrix Udaipur has given a decent account of himself in Customer Services, by delivering a calling card at the Dabok Airport to the customer, after collecting it from the Bus  Stop, on a Sunday, but disappointing in new.  Mehul, too has been disappointing on the revenue front, but has started taking some initiatives on his own and opened a couple of promising calls. On the content audit front, the Girls Brigade has been working relentlessly. Special kudos to the trio of Niharika, Pallabi and Prerna for that.

But all these means have not resulted in the end that we are all looking forward. Success from these efforts have not yet been realised. Even, the much awaited GoR project has been deferred for now. So, all in all, a week that has had much action but no result from it.

But following the line  "Success is Never Permanent and Failure is Never Final", all Blue Caramelers need to up the ante and work cohesively till Success is Achieved and then work doubly hard to keep up the success and keep up the momentum and be Successful.

Smart Is The Person Who Sees The Writing On The Wall!

With changes galore in Blue Caramel, there is a plethora of opportunities that have cropped up across locations. There is so much at stake for the Blue Caramelers to grab; an opportunity for them to move ahead career wise, position wise and authority wise, an opportunity for them to make a name; an opportunity to break ahead of others and get noticed. The writing is all on the wall for all Blue Caramelers to see.

Smart would be the person, who sees these opportunities and makes the most of it. Though the opportunities have actually been shown to all the Blue Caramelers, the winner would only be the one, who actually understands the need of the hour and delivers on the potential that each Blue Carameler has.

"Time and Tide Wait for None", how priceless are the words and all Blue Caramelers need to understand these. Alas, still there are some in the Organisation, who even now seem to not care about the importance of time and fritter away the chance Blue Caramel is offering them, in terms of growth, money and power.
If they are left behind in this Race for Ace, then it is them and only them who would be responsible for their own stagnation and non-progression in the Organisation.

For the wise only an indication is enough. Hope these wise (wo)men get the indication and start doing things within the requisite time frame, otherwise, I assure, they would be the greatest loosers....

Challenges Make Life Interesting!!

The Second week of the new year has come up with new challenges and with them new opportunities for the Blue Caramel Group. The major area of action would be the Blue Caramel Office-Jaipur, where Shinod, Himanshu and the designate Head-Sanjay have already gone. Presentations for Mega Events and some new calls for www.mydestination.com/rajasthan are in the offering. Shinod might be going to Delhi to fathom out some unchartered territories for Blue Caramel.

At Blue Caramel Office-Jodhpur, Manish is persevering with his efforts, so that he has a reasonable amount of work in hand for the technical team of VT360, when it comes to Jodhpur, after 19th January2012.

At Blue Caramel Office-Udaipur, Mehul and Suheil have taken upon themselves to improve and to develop in themselves the needed leadership qualities. They would now be closely monitored so that they perform at  desired efficiency levels.
The Girls' Brigade of Prerna, Niharika and Pallabi have to challenge themselves to set new benchmarks and continuously innovate and start lateral thinking.

There also has been a development at Blue Caramel, Mumbai. Shinod has been able to rope in Vishal and his team, who would now be responsible for the marketing initiatives at www.mydestination.com/mumbai.

So, all in all, many new challenges have cropped up and been faced adequately by the Blue Caramelers in the first 2 weeks of the new year2012, itself. But as is truly said
" Challenges Bring us Together! Challenges make Life Interesting! But Overcoming Them Is What Makes Life Meaningful! "
